As a metalsmith, the core material selected for self-expression is non ferrous metals. Additional mediums, such as polymer clay and borosilicate glass, bring exciting layers to the creative process.
The desire to create objects for enjoyment from raw elements began in my formative years. My family lived on an uninhabited island off the coast of Maine as much as the seasonal weather permitted. This experience impressed upon me the raw beauty which surrounds us. Whether creating fairy houses under the cool pines on the soft moss or sand castles fortified with seashells and ocean tumbled rock, nature never failed to provide the resources for our enjoyment.
Nature's patterns and colors continue as inspiration when creating 14design's jewelry.
